Small batch pottery inspired by the spectacular sunsets, colors, textures, and tranquility of living life at the Lake.
EXPERIENCE THE LAKE EFFECT
…it’s nature and nurture, a place to breathe in an appreciation for spectacular sunsets and to quiet your soul. It’s clear waters, crisp air, sloping dunes and sweeping grasses. It’s orchards, cornfields and expanses of vineyards along the countryside. And it’s also crashing waves over ice-covered lighthouses against pink-orange winter skies.
Four distinct seasons fuel our imagination. Just as each sunset in every season is unique to that day, so is each piece we hand craft for you.
Artisan crafted in our home studio for every season
We encourage you to visit our beautiful region, in each season!
Magical Summers
Beach living is at its best while sunshine lingers into the very late evenings. We slow our pace for farm stands, pick tomatoes from the vine, saunter through friendly markets, hunt for fields of flowers to capture with our cameras, kayak on the river, welcome tourists with smiles, and relax at the outdoor wineries filled with weekend music and laughter. There’s so much local bounty!
It’s a bright, crisp colorful season, and our very favorite in southwest Michigan.
Enchanting Autumns
When the crisp evening air moves in, savory soups fill our bowls and friends wrap themselves in blankets around roaring outdoor fires. An intoxicating aroma of hickory blends with the scent of plump, ripe grapes bursting on the vines at the edge of our property. Autumn not only shifts our activities to pumpkin carving and apple picking, but also moves our senses, inspiring warmth in our color choices of mugs filled with hot, cinnamon cider and vanilla bourbon tea.
Warm-hearted Winters
Yes, southwest Michigan is cold in winter! Wind whips off the lake, but it’s warmed by shared meals with friends in comfy chairs around the fireplace. Hot mugs of chai and handled-bowls filled with hearty stews carry us through outdoor events here. There’s Light Up the Bluff and the Reindog Parade, an Ice Festival, snowshoeing at the nature center, or fat-tire biking on snow-laden trails. Ice covers our lighthouse, and we lean into frosty palettes and tones to complement the season.
Slow but Steady Springs
Winter seems to tarry in Michigan, but once we cross that line, our world comes alive. Steaming coffee on cool mornings outside on the deck, birds building nests everywhere, flowering trees line the neighborhoods and we head to our favorite garden centers. (There are two favs, feel free to ask us about them!) Nature then shifts to nurture for us, incorporating functional design in our pottery that reflects the growth and flourishing life exploding around us.
